James McQueen is a Registered Social Worker with 20 years of experience in the Niagara Region. He has experience in assisting individuals struggling with stress, anxiety, insomnia, depression, substance use disorders, relationship issues, and anger.
James employs a variety of therapeutic techniques including acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing and solution-focused therapy. He has experience working with youth, adults, and older adults in a variety of agencies, conducting individual therapy and group treatment.
In addition to working at CBT Niagara, James is employed as a mental health counselor at a local family health team and a group facilitator at the Family Counselling Centre. He has also worked as a child protection worker, concurrent disorders case manager at CMHA Niagara, and a crisis worker in a hospital setting.
James is a member in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. He engages in continuing professional education in accordance with the requirements of the College. James is also a member of the Ontario Association of Social Workers and the Association of Contextual Behavioural Sciences.
