Psy.D. (Supervised Therapist)
Ms. Helmeczi received her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Medaille College in Buffalo, New York in 2020. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at Central New York Psychiatric Center (CNYPC) in Marcy, New York.
Ms. Helmeczi received clinical training in the following mental health settings: school, outpatient, inpatient, and prison. In addition, she worked with children, adolescents, and adults presenting with various mental health presentations such as anxiety, depression, adjustment concerns, trauma, psychosis, and character pathology. She is currently in the process of registering for supervised practice with the College of Psychologists of Ontario and aspires to obtain competency in clinical and forensic psychology.
With respect to her treatment approach, Ms. Helmeczi primarily practices cognitive-behavioural therapy while simultaneously implementing motivational interviewing and mindfulness-based techniques. Ms. Helmeczi acknowledges and emphasizes the importance of the client-therapist relationship and seeks to help clients in a collaborative, warm, and non-judgmental manner.
